Streptocarpus Gloria

The first timeI have had Gloria. A large pot. Exceptionally beautiful and flourishing. Great packaging. Thanks.

It is many years since I have had a streptocarpus, so I was delighted with the selection of four that I received from Dibleys. The pink variety Gloria is very pretty and I look forward to it becoming a large plant flowering freely!

One of the first Dibleys plants I bought at the Gateshead Garden Festival 35 years ago was 'Falling Stars' -_which remains my No,1 favourite streptocarpus and one I have bought many times since.
'Gloria' is a nice vigorous plant, but sadly it's rather wishy-washy pink colour simply doesn't live up to the cheerful vibrant blue of it's parent. { probably wouldn't buy it again, Sorry

I ordered 4 streptocarpus plants. They were very well packaged and 3 were strong, if a little leggy of leaf. Unfortunately the Gloria appeared to have been forced, with very long , pale leaves and spindly flowers stalks with tiny buds on the end. The rooting system could not cope with the height of the plant and once the packaging was removed the plant 'fell' out of its pot I emailed Dibleys with photos and asked for some advice. Unfortunately they have not responded, hence this review.

The plant arrived promptly and in excellent condition.
