One of the tallest cane begonias,growing to 2m within a couple of years, the flowers are a rich rose-pink and produced in large clusters. The leaves are about 15cm in length.

Begonia Lucerna

The plant arrived in good condition and is growing well. Taller than most other canes, I find this old (1892) hybrid (B. teuscheri x B. coccinea) a little more prone to powdery mildew than many others but this can be avoided by watering carefully, (only as needed) and by providing a little air movement. Thus treated, it makes a good specimen plant

I am in love

I can't believe how resilient this plant is. I managed to destroy a big chunk of her roots while potting and yet she is thriving. Her growth is explosive and I am in awe watching her. Thank you!
