Begin the Begonia: Musical Foliage Stars

On Thursday evening, the iconic red windmill at Paris's Moulin Rouge spun once more. To celebrate, here are some of our favourite musical-inspired Begonia varieties, including our show stopper, 'Moulin Rouge'.

'Wicked' is a quick growing variety with strong contrasting markings and deeply cut up leaves.

'Moulin Rouge' is quite a showstopper! Every leaf has a bright, ruby-red centre and dark veins. The wide, silver band towards the edge of the leaf gives a brightness that lifts the leaf from ordinary to extraordinary. A tight growing plant that produces masses of bright, pointed leaves.

'Blood Brothers' A tight growing variety with upright, spikey leaves.  The speckles of red, silver and green shimmer on the surface of the leaf.

'Phantom'. The leaves are pointed, deep burgundy with a hint of red and silver spots. A bushy variety that freely throws up new growth from the base.

If you have any great ideas for musical theatre themes we could use for our new Begonia varieties, let us know!
