As you might be aware, here at Dibleys, we proudly maintain three National Plant Collections (as part of Plant Heritage) and we're pleased to announce some wonderful news! We've successfully brought back Streptocarpus Amanda. It's a variety that our dad bred and introduced in the 1980s, but we lost it a number of years ago. Partly we wanted it back for sentimental reasons but also, as we hold the National Collection of Streptocarpus, we wanted to return it to our collection.
Thanks to Peter (and his mum, Eve) for sending us a leaf, we now have a lovely young plant thriving, and soon we'll be taking cuttings to ensure a bountiful stock. Stay tuned for updates as we eagerly await the stunning blooms! All being well, we'll be able to make it available to keen growers in a year or so.
