I took on a green experiment over the weekend: by seeing if I could attend a plant fair in a more environmentally friendly way. Instead of using a van, I hopped on public transport (with a selection of houseplants) to the Houseplant Fair at Old Spitalfields Market in London on Sunday.
This was to tie in with World Car Free Day. On Sunday 22nd September, millions of people across the globe (including me) left their vehicles at home and opted for greener ways to get around.
So the good news is I got from North Wales to E1 by train without any problems! I used a green Uber to get across town too. The carefully packed plants travelled perfectly - and even the large flowering plants looked perfect (using our mail order packaging).
With a bag big enough to hold 100 plug plants and a few pot plants, the journey was a breeze and I was back home in North Wales by 10.30pm for a well-deserved glass of wine! I reckon that was a success.
Below you can see a picture of the potted Polka-Dot Purple I carried down to London using our mail order packaging. I was pretty pleased how good it looked!
